To reflect the news and the activities of the Iranian Neurogenetic Society, a contract was signed between the editorial board of the "Genetics in the Third Millennium" and the board of the directors of the Iranian Neurogenetics Society to use it as the official journal of the society.

Genetics in the Third Millennium has been regularly published since 2003 but received the approval of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education as a scientific research journal in October 2010.  In addition to the news of the society, it publishes a wide range of articles in human and basic genetics as well as plant and animal genetics.
